17 May 2007 I am currently posted to United Nations Mission In Sudan (UNMIS) Headquarters in Khartoum Sudan. My co worker and I have to take two weeks of re-certification training before being sent to our sectors in the south. The training is a repeat of what we already took in Ottawa for pre-deployment training. We have to all take the training here again, as a lot of the countries that contribute Police Officers are from countries the UN is in their countries trying to fix their countries problems. Example of some of the countries that have sent Police to help are Rawanda, Seirre Lonne, Pakistan, Uganda and Nigeria. The tempature here today was 45 degrees. I think I drank over 11 litres of water. It is suppose to be cooler in the southern sectors. I'm hoping for that. Sgt Jason Henry's younger brother LT(N) Philp Henry is here as one of the Canadian Military Observers. There is 32 Canadian Military Observers here, most of them are Navy (none of them are even near Port Sudan) they are all in the south as well. I have not run into LT(N) Henry yet as he is in the field.
